In this post I am going to tell you how we cook Spanish vegetarian pizza at el Cafe, one of our tapas bar.
Cooked together with mainly Spanish ingredients. You might think it is difficult to cook a pizza but I can assure you that cooking one is easy.
And furthermore, if you make a thin pastry, not deep pan like the ones from the take away shops, I believe it is fairly healthy.
For the pizza dough follow the recipe by clicking on the following link. Dough recipe
To prepare the Spanish vegetarian pizza
Ingredients for Spanish vegetarian pizza
– Pizza dough
– Caper berries or capers
– White asparagus in a jar
– Mozzarella cheese
– Tomato sauce
– Sum blush tomatoes
– Picón blue cheese form the north of Spain
– Oregano
Step by Step
Preheat the oven top and bottom 200 degrees
I – Make the dough by following the link mentioned above
II – Extend the dough with your hands. You can also use a rolling pin to help you
III – Once it is rolled, place the dough in a pizza tray
IV – Add the tomato and after the mozzarella.– Add the blue cheese in small pieces
VI – Cut the white asparagus and place them in the pizza as you see in the picture
VII – Add the caper berries with the tail up, as it will be easier to take them out later
VIII – To finish add the sum blush tomatoes and the oregano
Put the pizza in the oven and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, keep an eye, because ovens work differently, the base of the pizza has to be crispy and the cheese on top has to be slightly brown colour.
